Koh sighed again. If what these three said was true, then Koh had met more than a few ignorant or covetous individuals. "Eh, I suppose you're righ'," he replied. He felt slightly relieved that they weren't going to act different towards him. Some of the guys on the force had given him grief about it. He couldn't concern himself with that now. There were more important tasks that were immediately on hand.
Roy broke the proverbial 'taboo' with his next question. Koh stared at the ground for a moment before giving a reply. His tone was much more solemn now than before, "The battle now is more focused around protecting the escaping civilians. The police force isn' equipped for this kind of thing, so the local military is protecting various escape rou'es aroun' the ci'y for civilians. Tha's the jes' of i'."

Delia listened to the two, her eyes growing grim. She didn't think it wise to say it in front of Harmony--it would only scare her more--but she couldn't ignore the reality of what they'd said.
They'd lost. Whoever it was that had sent this army into the city had won, and now all they could hope to do was relocate the survivors.

"So they pretty much abandoned hope on winning this battle then..." Roy laid his right arm on his leg and began staring at it as he opened and closed his hand. He closed his eyes and thought about his family who he hoped was still, or already at Station Square. The latter one ,less likely because he knew the trip from here, to the docks over in the coast, by water, and then to Station would take longer then how long he has been in the city since they've been gone.
Roy opened his eyes and glanced at Delia and then Koh. He then nodded. "It's probably better that way. The military needs to ensure that as many people as possible can escape the city. Speaking of which," Roy stood up, "are you guys good enough to move back out onto the streets?" The fox had begun to sound a little restless. "I mean, we ought to start making our way to one of the evacuation areas before they're overrun. You know?"

"Well...tha's no' entirely true. I's possible tha' the soldiers have a backup plan. I'm a member of the Westopolis Police Department. In the initial retrea' I heard one of the commanding soldiers say tha' in order to carry ou' their final course of action, the civilians would have to be ou' of the city. They migh' have said tha' to give people hope, cause there were a lo' of refugees around, bu' I can' say for certain." Koh thought about Roy's next question for a moment. He stood up and did some very minor stretches to see if he would be in good enough shape to do something. The pain in his ribs was still very much there, but his headache had subsided for now. "No good stickin' around here. I'm good enough to ge' goin'."

Delia looked as though she were holding back a disapproving sigh, but she merely shook her head and tucked Harmony, whose eyes had grown wide, closer.
"We're both okay to move. I don't think there was any permanent damage suffered." She glanced first from Koh, then to Roy, wearily, "So whenever you want to leave, we'll be ready."

"Final course of action huh?" Roy asked as he began to look out into space. Any mention of final and action in the same sentence always resulted in the thoughts of blowing things to hell more than they already were. They wouldn't really think about razing the city anymore than it is now would they? I mean, what good would that do... Well, whatever this action is, I'm sure Koh knows what it is. I'll ask him later.
Roy shook his head, bringing his mind back into the situation at hand. "Alright then," He began as he took a few steps over toward Koh. "I'll meet you guys out there then. Make sure you have everything you may need, and by that I mean anymore painkillers, water, some small cans of food, if you can find anymore, and other things like that. Just don't bring too much since we'll need to be quick on our feet. Oh, and one more thing." Roy put the echidna's weapons on a crate beside him. "I'm sure you'll be needing these out there."
After he fox had put the weapons down, he walked out of the storeroom in the back, up to the front counter, where his gun had been lying there, in two pieces as he had left it. Looking at the gun's pieces, Roy sighed. "Just one more war the world is going to deal with. The only question is, how long will this one last..." He said under his breath as he knelt down and began reassembling the gun, being sure that nothing else had been put out of place from being thrown down.

"Yeah, or a' leas' tha's wha' they said," Koh tried to continue speaking after that, but it seemed that he was spent as far as conversation was concerned. He felt as though nothing he could say would make a difference at this point. He nodded to Roy when the doctor left his weapons on the crate. Koh stepped over and grabbed them, making sure the handgun was loaded and ready. He did his best to smile at the woman and the kid, giving a nod before he turned and went to search around the store a bit before they decided to head out. He pulled his jacket back on, having left his shirt in the storage room they were previously in.
Koh managed to find another roll of medical tape, a fist-sized packet of gauze, and a couple of bottles of water. The only food he'd seen had been junk food like chips or candy bars. And he still had the bottle of pain killers he found before. I's gonna be a rough day, bu' I think we're on the home stretch. Make i' ou' of the city. Tha's all.

((OOC: Delia and Harmony are just NPC characters, guys, so if I forget to post again, don't worry too much about going on without me. ^^''))
The mouse and the dove stayed where they were, waiting for the two to get back. Before they'd fled--and before they'd been mugged--Delia had packed some essentials for the road, and Harmony had been able to find nearly all of it again after it had been scattered by their attacker.
Eventually, with Harmony's help, Delia rose to her feet and slung the bag back over her good shoulder. All that was left to do now was wait.

"There we go, just like new." Roy said as he pointed the reassembled gun at the window toward the street. With a silencer on it, he pulled it's trigger expecting the sound of glass shattering. Turns out, he didn't fix it "like new". He went ahead and pulled the trigger a few more times waiting for the bullet to go out, but only found out the gun had been jammed.
"Stupid piece of crap..." He said as he forced the bullet out of the chamber without firing it. He proceeded to take the gun apart and then reassemble it. As he was finishing up, he called out to the others. "Hey! Are you guys almost ready? I'll be outside waiting for you guys."
He pulled the slide mechanism again on the gun as he walked out the door to the street. He pulled the trigger again and watched as the bullet ricocheted off a sign he was aiming and into some random direction. Satisfied, he holstered the gun and began waiting for the others.
((OOC: Bleh. Lame post thats purty darn lame...))

After placing the supplies he'd gathered in various pockets of his jacket, he called out to the two waiting in the back, "C'mon you two. We need to ge' goin' now. Roy's wai'in' on us ou'side. Bes' no' to leave him ou' there alone for long, right?" Koh would wait for them both to make there way out to the storefront to ensure that they were able to move around well enough, at which point he would head out the front door to meet up with Roy.
"They're on their way. We should move a' a relaxed pace unless we encounter any trouble. We need to conserve as much energy as we can."

After a few moments, the school teacher and her student ambled out of the store. Delia leaned heavily on a cane she'd apparently found inside while she adjusted her bag, not trusting her still-weakened leg to keep her standing. Harmony hovered at her side, her expression drawn and somber.
The mouse finally looked up, pushing her satchel away, and nodded. "Lead on, boys."

Roy nodded in response to what Koh had said. "Of course we'll move slowly. Aside from needing to save our energy, Delia shouldn't even be moving around too much. Hell, she needs a real doctor right now." The fox reached into one of the pouches on his belt, pulled out a water bottle, and drank from it. " Well, all we can hope is that one of those evacuation sites has one there to help her more. If not... Then we wait for the next hospital i guess."
When Delia and Harmony came out, Roy nodded to them and then spoke again to Koh. "Okay, well I assume that you probably know where the evacuation sites are, so are you fine with leading the way?"
