The brown furred mobian gazed at the sky blankly as he laid on the sand. He smiled; nothing could bring this day down.
He woke up in the afternoon, had lunch with an awfully pretty girl (wonder what she'd think about that), and he had even found a nice restaurant that served goat for dinner.
Looking up at the clouds was the perfect way to end his perfect day. Not even someone tripping over him could ruin it. Well, maybe.

Not wearing shoes was probably a bad idea in most places but today, it was the best choice he ever made. The sand was nice and cool under his feet and the smell of the ocean made him feel at peace. The only thing that could make this day better was if someone was around for him to talk with.
As he kept walking along the shore he kept his eyes closed so nothing could distract him. Unfortunately that was one of the poorer decisions he had made today. As soon as he thought it was a bad idea it was little bit too late.
His paw hit something in the sand and went head first into the sand. Instead of facing who he tripped over, he decided to stay in the sand, to hide the embarrassment.

The chupacabra grunted as a foot hit him as a dark-and-light brown figure fell over him.
Trevor lifted his head as far as he could laying down (with a body over his gut) and looked to see the figure. They seemed to have their face stuck in the dirt. Trevor squinted trying to see any physical features in their face.
"Hello, cutie-" Trevor stopped dead in his sentence, his face now a deep shade of reddish-brown. That wasn't a chick. His face showed all signs of complete embarrassment.
"Uh.....Oh, crap. Thought you... were.. Someone else. Yeah, that's it." Trevor tried to slide out from under the wolf, but failed.

Cutie?... I mean I know I'm not that muscular but jeez.... Propping himself up on his arms, Richy quickly spit up the sand that had landed in his mouth. "Blegh...." Turning around he faced the mobian he had tripped over. "Sorry about that, should have watched where I was going...heh..." He rubbed the back of his head nervously and got off of the guy.
Suddenly, he remembered that the only that could make this day better was if he could talk to some one. So... now his day was much better. His blue eyes lit up as he sat down in the sand next to Trevor. "Since we kinda had a freak meeting I might as well introduce myself. My name is Richard, but you can call me Richy or any other nickname you can come with. What's yours?"

Trevor quickly sat up and scooted nothing more than five inches away from the canine. "Seriously. Really sorry about that, uh, Richy? That's a cool name." Trevor grinned. This guy wasn't so bad.
"Name's Trevor, by the way. The nickname's usually Trev."

"Heh just forget that whole thing ever happened. It was just a fluke anyway." He held out his hand to shake hands with the chupacabra next to him. "Nice to to meet you Trevor."
He pricked his ears so he could hear the ocean waves better. Smiling he laid down and crossed his arms behind his head. "So, what brings you to the coastline anyway?

Trevor took Richy's hand and shook it. He tilted his head back to see the white clouds against the sky.
"Nothing much. I really just wandered over here from the city. Much quieter." he smirked at the clouds. He always thought nature was better than the crowded city. "What about you?"

"Me? I'm just wondering about, don't have much to do and enjoying that to the fullest." He sat up and brushed the sand out of his fur and looked towards the ocean.
"I think this place is the perfect place to go if you just want to get away....It's like..nothing can bother you here you know?" He grinned at seemingly nothing and slowly wagged his tail. "It's like your problems mean nothing here!"

"After checking it out a bit, yeah, it is pretty perfect." Trevor said, closing his eyes half-way, calmly. A small tide of water brushed up against his feet.
"At least, except for the old rumors around here." he said nonchalantly. His eyes gazed to something non-visible from the beach. Abandoned bases are said to be just off the coastline, practically invisible without a telescope from the beach. It was just a rumor, though.

Richy's ears twitched at the mention of rumors. Sighing happily he lied on his back and considered what kind of rumor it could be. A hidden treasure maybe or a sunken ship! A blissful but idiotic look fell across his face from all the thoughts that his imagination was making.
Shaking his head to get rid of all of those thoughts, he slowly opened one eye and looked towards Trevor. "So...exactly what type of rumors are we talking about here, Trev?" He gave a toothy grin.

At his new acquaintance's toothy grin, Trevor knew one thing. This guy was either a prankster or an adventurer. Either one was fine with him, though.
"Have you ever heard of those old bases down past the coastline?" Trevor asked. Simple rumor, but with a teensy bit of curiosity, anything can happen. "In one of the local newspapers, there's a story about an old guy who went to one of them. They didn't believe him, because he was two steps away from being senile, but what do you think?"
Trevor stood up, sand digging in the gaps in his toes. He sighed, wondering exactly what would be at such a place.

"Naw, never heard of those old bases, don't read the newspaper that much. What are they like old army bases or something? Either way the sound kinda interesting!" Stretching, he flexed legs, which were ready for some exploring.
"I'm not much of an explorer, but imagine all of the stuff that could be down there, ya know? It could be like secret things that no one ever knew existed!" Richy exclaimed. Turning back to Trevor he gave a wide grin.
"I'm up for it if you're up for it!"

"No idea if they're military stuff, but no one would care if they were abandoned, huh?" a rare, mischievous grin appeared on the chupacabra's muzzle.
"In any case, there's an old row boat down by the dock, and I'm a little bored. Up for any spelunking?" he looked behind him to find the wolf grinning. Spelunking it is.
