Hi! Your friendly _{(if she's not pissed off... <3)} neighborhood Meryck is here, welcoming you to the Revival Zone _{(with Hally and the rest of the admins maybe?)}. It's not that flashy, and I apologize for it, but hey, cut me some slack, it's my first forum. but it is awesome and you should love it.

Anyway, I'll rant all I want later; now it is time for rules.

General:

1) Cursing is allowed, but do not use swears excessively or unnecessarily. Thou shalt not make a character solely for teh mature cursens'.
       Please also keep in mind Proboards' rules.
2) Be civil. We do not want to find people verbally tearing each other down.
3) Be legible. No l33tspeak on the forum, though in the chatbox it is acceptable for comedic purposes.
       Literacy is GOOD and respectable!
4) Try to be active in all that you can. If you have an idea - share! We don't bite!
       Please post a thread in our "Say Good-bye" sub-board to let us know if you will be gone for a while so the threads you are part of don't stagnate and die.

5) No threatening or terroristic acts. This is an RP forum for Chaos' sake.
       Breaking the 4th Wall does not count (granted, the character is doing that.)
       Do not pick fights or flame another member. You will be banned for doing so.
6) No prejudice against religion, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or any other thing one can be prejudice about. Not cool is not cool, folks. We don't care WHAT you believe in, look like, or your personal preferences. Just don't call people out on it, please.

Characters

1) Use the bio provided at minimum. You may use a lengthier one or add elements to our admittedly skimpy requirements if you wish.
2) Currently, Mobians, humans, and humanoid characters are accepted.
       Hybrid Mobians are also accepted as long as they are reasonable (there are no rabbitdile children. Ever.)
3) We will not accept a character who is a spirit or undead entity without express admin approval and harsher modding.
4) No perfect characters. Give them flaws. Realistic personality. Not overpowered abilities. You are not as fast as Sonic. You are not as smart as Tails.
     Many powers can be fixed with an inherrent flaw - like being able to burn yourself, all you pyrokinetics.
5) No characters related to canon characters. Thou shalt not take the name "Prower."
6) Eight characters per person maximum.
       NPCs (Non-player characters that are only used for a specific situation) do not count.
7) If your character dies, they will be moved to the Graveyard, thus freeing up that character slot again.
       Unless said dead character will be very active in The Spirit Realm, but that will be dictated by the Staff on a case-by-case basis.
       If needed only once or twice, it does not count.
       No ressurections.
9) If you have questions or concerns about your character, PM a staff member.

In-Character Roleplaying

1) No godmodding or powerplaying. Do not control another's character. Do not be invincable in fights. An in-depth guide will be posted at a later date.
2) Fights and nongraphic make-out sessions are okay, but nothing extremely explicit.
       Glyph: Please, please, please!
3) You do not get to decide death or resurrections. That is the admins' and moderator's jobs.
       We will not kill your character without a) your permission and/or b) your want to do so, either to free up a character slot, because you are bored with them, or to advance a personal plot.
4) No chat format posts. For example:
       Meryck: This is not allowed.
5) No time paradoxes. Liquid time - or bein gin multiple places or threads at once with a single character - is not allowed.

       Note: The ARK is restricted and only certain people will be given permission to roleplay there. Do not beg for the password. If you have the password, do not give it to anyone else. The password will be reset if we suspect someone did.

Out of Character:

1) Always follow the General Rules when posting (and otherwise!), even if you are in the Random RP (Non-canon roleplay) board. Always use common courtesy and common sense.
2) You do not need to have characters approved to post with them in the Random RP board. You may use any character, OC (approved or not) or canon, in that board.
3) You must ALWAYS follow rules One and Two of the In-Character Roleplaying.

2.) Currently, Mobians, humans, and humanoid characters are accepted.
--Hybrid Mobians are also accepted; however, outlandish crosses are not. For example, a perfectly feasible cross is the ever popular hedgechidna. Crocodile-rabbit crosses aren't. (When in doubt, go for mammalxmammal, birdxbird, etc...)
3.) We will not accept a character who is a spirit or undead entity--the only way to play a spirit or ghost is if your character dies in-game and is given permission to become one.
4.) No perfect characters. Seriously. Just no.
--This includes characters that are physically and emotionally perfect in every way, the dreaded "Mary-Sue", and characters with that are invincible or have over the top abilities or god-like abilities. (Seriously, Sonic's the one known for superspeed; Shadow was the one with Chaos Powers. Leave them their glory and create your own.)
--Remember: This being a Sonic RP, not bein o'er-the-top still leaves you a lot of wiggle room. Make sure there are flaws in the powers; Meryck can electrocute herself and Lex has the DUAL problem of being able to burn himself and being half-blind, for example.
---Alternatively, they can just NOT HAVE POWERS and be useful in some other way. Badass Normals are still Badass, after all.
5.) That being said, not every character has to have a horrible, blood curdling past to be interesting, and they don't have to all be dark, brooding balls of angst or nauseatingly peppy.
--If in doubt about what's accepted, PM one of us.
6.) No characters related to canon characters. We're trying to steer clear of the canons as much as possible.
---Well, okay, plot-inducing characters are allowed to be canon. But that's usually the Staff. Unless someone has a valid reason for playing a canon character.
7.) EIGHT CHARACTERS PER PERSON. It USED to be four, but then I realized the fact that we're all STUFFED WITH CHARACTER IDEAS. Whoops.
--NPCs (characters in the background or ones that are only needed once for a certain situation) do not count toward this number.
8.) If your character dies, their bios will be moved to a Graveyard Index (which will come about when needed), thus freeing up that Character Slot again.
---Unless said dead character will be very active in The Spirit Realm, but that will be dictated by the Staff and by how relevant they are to the plot.
---If said character is only needed once or twice beyond the grave, it doesn't count.
---NO RESURRECTIONS.
9.) If you have questions or want to do something, run it by the staff. Chances are, if it is logical, clever, or cool, we MIGHT actually let you do it.
---Example: Elf is going to bring in one of her dimension-hopping characters from her Traveler's stories. I personally okay'd this because it fits into the nature of the character AND because it gives us an excuse to use the Hospital Labs. And if you don't know why this character is cool, get on dA and read Elf's stuff now.

IN CHARACTER RP:
1.) No god-modding or powerplaying. If you're a moderator or a admin, it's your job to mod, but otherwise? NO.
--Godmodding or powerplaying is basically affecting the outcome of a situation--be it fight or first date--by controlling the actions of another player's character, and is a BIG NO-NO that can get you chewed out by everyone involved.
2.) Nothing TOO graphic. Fights are fights, and make-outs are okay, but no using someone's guts as a jump rope or having unabashed sex. No one wants to see it.
-- Well, okay, if you check it by us first MAYBE. But still, no on-screen sex, please.
--Glyph: Please, please, please!
3.)You do not get to decide death or resurrections. That's the admins' and moderator's jobs, thanks.
4.) No script format posts:

--Note: The ARK is restricted, and only certain people will be given permission to RP there. Kindly do not beg for the password, because it will be given out ONLY at the staff's discretion. If you are given the password, you may not give it out to anyone else - if we find out someone did, the password will be RESET to something totally different and everyone will be out of luck until we decide to give it out again.

OUT OF CHARACTER:
1.) Aside from the main plot, we also have a Random RP board, as well as several other places for members and guests to post. Please follow the General Rules when posting.
2.) You do not need to have characters approved to post with them in the Random RP board. You may post whatever you like there, with whoever you like, however you like, be it canon or one of your original characters.
3.) However, you MUST follow the General Rules and One and Two of the In Character RP rules.
