More in-depth ideas (after six months. >.>;;;):
Followers of the Comet - Cult-like, practiced behind closed doors by serious followers, and as a fad by the younger generation. Black Doom is the main "diety", and is believed to one day return to bring about a new world order centering around his "true believers".
Gaians - believe in the "flow" of energy through and around the planet, and that there is a dark and light side to everything and everyone; practiced most often in rural or remote regions Dark Gaia - represents darkness, night, rest, and death; sometimes equated with "evil" Light Gaia - represents light, day, movement, and birth; sometimes equated with "good"
Believers of the Scale - ancient, nearly extinct belief system in which the entity Argus controlled the fate of the world and acted as the Great Judge and Scale.
... And I'm still not sure what to do with Enerjak and the Babylon Guardian. XD

Neh, neh. In the first Sonic Riders game the Babylon Guardian was a genie who condemned theft and greed. So, I imagine it would be a very traditional (almost Eastern, somewhat like Buddhism that is not necessarily a religion, but a philosophy?) religion. I would think it's a fairly recent religion though, practiced in rurallish/mountainy areas because the original Babylonians... well, became thieves!
Then in the second Sonic Riders, they go and make them all aliens that crashed onto Earth. I'm not sure how that would affect believers, other than splitting the philosophy into two branches? One that preached against greed and things (orthodox) and one that focuses more on new life/new experiences/and acceptance of the unknown? Hmm just tossing around ideas because I loved SR2 xD
