Welcome to the Revival Zone! Chances are, you've read the rules and still have no idea what's really going on--which is fine. That's what this thread is for, after all: to give you a bit of a crash course in some of the things unique to this site. Now, obviously it's not a complete compilation yet--I'm working on it--but all the more reason to get out in the RP. We learn best from experience, yes? 
The Rundown:
TRZ is a mixed canon site, whose RP occurs about a century after the death of major celebrity and hero Sonic the Hedgehog. As such, none of our old heroes are around anymore, leaving the world, while peaceful, very vulnerable, especially since the majority of the population has been lulled into believing that the stories of old, while true, were wildly blown out of proportion: Everyone knows Sonic the Hedgehog was a hero who saved the world a hundred times over--but with magical glowy rocks? Of course not. That'd be preposterous.
Speaking of the Chaos Emeralds--they've once again disappeared and faded back into the shadows of legend, and generally, the only people who really believe that they exist are considered either superstitious, religious, or both.
What? A Sonic RP that's not all about madly scrambling for the Chaos Emeralds? Say it isn't so!
Technology has advanced since Sonic's day, but not terribly so--the forests aren't paved with chrome or anything. For some examples: hovercrafts have replaced cars, simple holograms are commonplace, and airgear have been fine-tuned to run on solar energy as well as air.
Cultural Terms and Slang:
Base Species - the animal a Mobian takes its characteristics from; a Mobian's ancestor, so to speak, like "hedgehog" or "koala"; may also be considered a Mobian's "breed"
Barky - term used for a forest Mobian
Baldy - somewhat affectionate term used for elderly Mobians
Bubbler - term used for an aquatic or amphibious Mobian
Cross - see "Hybrid"
Dryball - term used for a desert Mobian
Frosty - term used for a Mobian that lives somewhere very cold or snowy
Hybrid - politically correct term for a Mobian whose parents were not of the same base species
Mongrel - "polite" insult for a mixed-species Mobian
Mutt - derogatory term for a mixed-species Mobian
Nonfuzz - a human
Skin - offensive slang for "human"
Valleyfolk - mountain-dwellers' name for anyone who doesn't live in the mountains
